The Metropolitan University Karachi (MUK) is a professional higher education institution which is established to promote the education for communities and scholars in the classroom as well as online teaching. The activities were planned with the establishment of a Trust, known as MAB Foundation (Muhammad Ayub Brother Foundation). This initiative was taken by the sons and daughters of the late Mr. Muhammad Ayub, who was the Government Contractors with a name and fame due to their work, honesty and dedication in the development of Province of Baluchistan for over half a century.
Late Mr. Muhammad Ayub who belongs to the family of ancient City of Baluchistan “Fort Sandman” or known as “Appozai”, which is the capital of Zhob District surrounded by natural sceneries in the Baluchistan province of Pakistan. Late Mr Ayub was a dedicated person and served for the community in the infrastructure development programs for Pakistan Government. His services were highly recognized by the UN Afghan Commissioner for his support of the Afghan Refugees Welfare Program through his resources without any personal interest and gain. Mr. Ayub’s father assisted Pakistan Army and contributed his financial and human resources heavily in the Indo Pak War of 1965. His participation was acknowledged by the Government of Pakistan and Pakistan Armed Services. He was honored to be the resident of the Cantonment Area City of Quetta by the Pakistan Army.
After the death of Mr. Ayub in the year 2009 his sons and daughters decided to use all their father’s assets to promote the educational activities and establish the MAB Foundation. The donated one of the most prestigious and commercially valued properties, located in the Northern Area of Karachi at Safoora Goth, University Road having an area of over 20,000 yards to the MAB Foundation. They invested their financial resources to establish a Smart School, Smart Collage and The Metropolitan University Karachi which was the dream of Late Mr. Ayub. It is estimated that the present value of the land is around Rs.3 Billion (the US $20 Million) and financial investment of around Rs.500 million have turned the property into an education complex that offer the community to get the child admitted into the first stage of the education and see him honored with a degree of Ph.D. under one roof and institution.
MUK is offering quality educational at degrees level for the bachelor and master programs in Business Administration, Islamic Studies, Education and Computer Science and Information Systems. The university’s expansions programs offer fourteen faculties in the near future with additional Certificate and Diploma Courses in the various subject.
The MUK was given a charter under an Act of Parliament by the Sindh Provincial Assembly and Sindh Higher Education Commission of Pakistan as The Private Charted University of Pakistan. Some of the educational institutions and training organization based in the UK, Latvia, Russia, USA and Hong Kong and Singapore have shown interest in the Online education system of MUK which is in process on most modern LMS with its own technical capabilities.
Now Metropolitan University Karachi pride with its background beginning a success-oriented learning environment for the community following the dream of Late Muhammad Ayub’s dream which now coming to reality through MAB Foundation Trust.
